The Savior-King

– The King’s Crown –

The Crown teaches us that Jesus is the coming King sent by God to save mankind from the rule of sin, Satan, and death and to grant sinners new and eternal life in the Kingdom of God. When you enter into the Kingdom of God, you have entered into a New Life with Jesus.

Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Mark 16:15-16

– The Savior’s Cross-

The Cross teaches us that Jesus bought a sinner’s freedom by paying with His own life on a cross. This is the gospel truth: that Life with Jesus in His Kingdom is given freely by responding to who Jesus is and what He has done for you.

How Do I
Respond To
Jesus
My
Savior-King?

Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God is at hand;
repent and believe in the gospel… and,
come follow Me.”
Mark 1:15, 17

Repent

Repentance is a total change of mind away from sin and the world. To repent is to experience conviction, remorse, and sorrow for your sin and to seek God’s forgiveness.

Believe

Believe the gospel. Jesus is God’s Son who lived, died, and was raised for you. To believe is to put all of your trust in Him alone for your salvation. True saving faith results in new actions.

Follow

Commit to follow Him in obedience as His disciple. To follow Jesus means both to obey His commands and to imitate things He said and did. This includes obedience to the Bible.

If you confess with
your mouth that
Jesus is Lord and
believe in your heart
that God raised him
from the dead, you
will be saved.
Romans 10:9

– What About Baptism-

Mark 16:16 says, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved…”

Acts 2:41 says, “So those who received his word were baptized…”

Believer’s Baptism is a decision made by a believer, an act of obedience to Jesus’ instruction to be baptized. As such, it is the sign of becoming a disciple of Jesus.
