IDENTITY IN CHRIST | DAY 23
Ephesians 2:4,8
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love that he had for us, 5 made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift
I am saved by grace
So this Grace thing. It’s huge. No religion has it. Not Buddhism, Islam, Mormonism, Judaism, or Hinduism. Only Christ's followers have this beautiful gift called GRACE. So what is it? It is the instrument, or platform used to distribute the gift of salvation. Without grace, we would have to earn it, and that’s impossible. All of us would end up in hell which we would have earned because we are sinners. Our status pre-Jesus: DEAD in our sins (trespasses). But God saves us!! Here is how it happens:
We are dead in sin. No hope at all for life.
God has an incredible love for us (why? His own glory!)
God is RICH, I mean He’s loaded in mercy so…
He brings us from the dead to life through Jesus' blood on the cross
THIS IS GRACE!!!!!
Christians are saved through this amazing process. We don’t do anything, and I mean anything to earn it. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. It’s a work of God, not a work of you. It’s a gift :)
